Mission Statement

The Mandaean Associations Union (MAU) is an international federation of Mandaean Associations and Organizations from around the globe. It acts as an umbrella group to represent its member Mandaean Associations. Its headquarters is in Toronto ( Canada ) and has satellite offices in New York   ( USA ), London ( UK ), Manchester ( UK ) and Stockholm ( Sweden ).  The membership is open to any Mandaean organization that agrees to abide by the By-Laws. 

The MAU strives to co-ordinate the common interests of its members by the following;

  • Maintain, organize and promote the interaction among the different Mandaean communities all over the world on cultural and spiritual levels.
  • The MAU works on defending the Mandaean Human Rights all over the world and especially in Iraq and Iran . The Mandaean Human Rights Group coordinate that effort and will publish an annual report on the Human Rights of Mandaeans all over the world.
  • It pays special attention to promoting the interactions among young mandaeans and help in building their own organizations.
  • The MAU works on presenting accurate and credible information about the Mandaeans to the different international organizations.
  • The MAU works on helping our religious leaders in building the Mandaean Supreme Religious Council

The plenary assembly, convened every three years, is the supreme authority of the Union, the governing board meets between the assemblies, and its secretarial committee conducts the affairs of the organization.
